Hair by: Kim McCullough

I wanted to post a little review of Wow Wedding Hair by: Kim McCullough, a local stylist who has been doing fabulous wedding hair for years! She has recently lowered her prices!!! As a successful business, this is a huge credit to her passion for what she does! She now charges $100 an hour and as always travels to you on your wedding day! Here are a few images of some of her work:

Our Website is Down

We apologize for the inconvenience if any of you tried to access the website today. We have been having some ongoing issues with Registerfly.com who was our domain host. We renewed online, but it never updated on their site...even though it cleared on our credit card. We've tried getting in touch with anyone with the company for almost 2 months, with no luck. I am very disheartened by the whole situation and frusturated beyond belief since I HAVE to contact someone there in order to continue to utilize www.aremembereddetail.com. Anyway...enough with my frustrations! It will be up and running again as soon as possible! Thank you for your patience! In the meantime...keep checking in here and contact me at info@armembereddetail.com or eventsbymeredith@yahoo.com!!

Advice: 'Adult Only' Reception

Q: We are just in the process of receiving our reply cards back. A few of our friends are replying that their children will be coming with them. My fiance and I feel that a reception is not a place for kids. If we wanted any there, our first pick would be our own family, and those children will not be attending and their parents are fine with that. Any ideas on how we can break the news but not hurt anyone’s feelings? We truly feel if we say no kids then some of our guests will not come….Help?

A: There are a few ways to handle this.
1. You may talk to the guests who have added their children and see how they handle the news that you intentionally did not include the children in the invitation. Explain to them that this was an effort you made for them to enjoy the evening as a couple. Or tell them there just is not enough room in the venue for addittional guests.
2. You can let the idea of your adult only reception go. Tell your family memebers they can bring their children, add a kids table and kid friendly menu options and make peace with the change of plans.
3. You could hire a nanny or babysitter for those guests that do bring their children with them. Professional services will provide activities, swings, etc and cater to children of varying ages. You would provide a room on site for these children to be cared for, away from the rest of the guests. Parents won't have to pay for a sitter or deal with an seperation issues to attend the event!

Best of luck in handling this awkward situation!

PS: For Atlanta brides and grooms dealing with this issue who are interested in hiring a professional nanny, Wedding Bells Nanny Service is a fantastic option! You can check them out at: www.aremembereddetail.com/nanny.

Wedding trends for 2007

Wedding trends for 2007

By: Wendy Zang

Online wedding resource The Knot (theknot.com) recently released its list of hot wedding trends to watch for in 2007. Among them:

• Orange: With hues ranging from creamy peaches to mod citrus and deep tangerines to burth siennas. Look for oranges paired with browns, lime and sage greens, sky blues, lemony yellows and even with jewel tones like red and gold.

• Trumpet skirt: The trumpet gown is the silhouette of the moment. Look for it with dramatic fabrics and details like flowers and sexy sleeves.

• Italy: Couples are following Tom and Kate's lead on the Italian destination weddings.

• Blogs: Wedding Web sites are all the rage. Look for them to grow in sophistication with daily blogs, digital music, streaming video and even live Web casts.

• Cocktail hour: Pre-reception parties complete with awe-inspiring flowers, special entertainment and fancy munchies are taking center stage.

• Dessert buffet: The cake's still there, but more couples are opting for what's traditionally known as the Viennese table.

• Adventure honeymoons: Hot for 2007: trips to the Seven Wonders of the world from the Great Wall of China to the great pyramids of Egypt.

Last Weekend

This past weekend I had my last wedding until after the baby...Liz and Matt were wonderful and their wedding was gorgeous. Liz was so much fun to work with! I had the pleasure of again working with the fabulous Shannon Wright . The ceremony and reception were held at The Prospect House in Alpharetta. "Cakes By Darcy" made the gorgeous and tasty chocolate wedding cake!

Her pink and green theme was carried throughout the event with a candy buffet and signature martinis, which were both huge guest pleasers! Liz chose very simple tulip flower arrangements that looked stunning and very spring time! I can honestly say I don't think I've had such a party loving crowd...they truly made the most of every moment, even extending the reception an addittional hour!!

I look forward to posting some pictures once they are available!

It has been incredibly difficult for me not to continue taking events right up until the day I go into labor! June isn't the most ideal time for a wedding planner to have a baby...but I am too excited about the new addittion to my family to really care! July is already booked and I am very excited about those weddings as well as getting back into the swing of things after the little one arrives.
